NJSWC Volunteer Event: Community FoodBank of New Jersey

Join us for a volunteer event at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside, NJ. 

This is an opportunity to support an important cause while spending time with other NJSWC members.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is the state’s largest anti-hunger organization. It distributes food to more than 800 community partners across New Jersey, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and programs that serve children and seniors. Volunteers play an essential role in helping CFBNJ carry out this work. Nearly 1.1 million people in New Jersey experience food insecurity, including almost 200,000 children.

Date: October 16, 2026,

Time: 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Note: arrive at least 15 minutes before start time to be placed with our group.)

Location: 31 Evans Terminal Road, Hillside, NJ, USA

Please be advised that this is a multi-step process that you will start by registering here but complete on the FoodBank website page. Look for an email from us with a registration link.

Once you complete their registration process, you will receive a confirmation email from them that includes additional detailed instructions related to arrival time, attire and parking.

Volunteer activities may involve sorting food, assembling food boxes, packing pasta, or prepping food to be distributed to network partners and members of the community in our Hillside warehouse. Volunteers will be assigned to specific activities upon arrival. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old (12-15 must be accompanied by an adult).
